Security Group Member InfoThe Security Groups utility is used to look into a security group located in the Domain you are logged in to or any Windows based computer (NT, XP, 2000, 2003) that you have access to. Immediate Uses___________________________________________________________________________ - Quick look into your domain or local groups
- Quickly find the full name of a user in a group
- Create a text file containing user names based on group membership.
Instructions______________________________________________________________________________ - Open the utility up and choose "Global Group" or "Local Group".
Global Group - Click on the load groups button.
- Choose the group you want to investigate.
- Click on "Load Members"
- Highlight the member and the full name will appear in the lower left corner.
- Click on "Save to File" and the membership info will be placed in a txt file on your local hard drive.
Local Group - Click on the load groups button.
- Enter the path to the server or workstation ( \\computername)
- Choose the group you want to investigate
- Click on "Load Members"
- Highlight the member and the full name will appear in the lower left corner.
- Click on "Save to File" and the membership info will be placed in a txt file on your local hard drive.
NOTE: As of this version if your in the membership view and you click (highlight) a member that is a group and not an individual account you'll get an error. I hope to have this resolved in the next version. Please remember you must be a "local admin" or a member of the "local admins" group on the system you are running the tools from.
